25 years ago, in a small workshop in Novara, Tullio Granatello founded the Tamburo brand and manufactured the first 5 ORIGINAL drum kits with lathe-turned staves of solid maple. padouk, zebrano, wenge, moutenye walnut.

  • 1989: NUOVA - Led by the desire to explore new sonorities and with the aim of optimizing the production process in order to make the instruments more affordable, he manufactured the NUOVA model, a drum kit with lathe-turned multilayer staves combining different kinds of wood: fraké wood, frake and poplar, frake and beech.
  • 1990: LINEA - Encouraged by the results and the appreciation shown by many of his colleague drummers, Tullio produced LINEA, the first polyhedral shell drum kit of lamellar beechwood, lathed only on the bearing redge to allow the housing of the drumheads.
  • 1992: OPERA - The first experiments and the results obtained from the LINEA model led to OPERA which, thanks to its new reinforcement ring (international patent U.S. 5675099) marked a turning point in the way drums were seen, heard and played.
  • 1994: STUDIO - Always looking for new products and feeling the need to reach a wider ever-growing market, Tullio manufactured STUDIO, the first traditional 7-ply maple shell drum set. This model was specifically designed for a wider range of players who immediately appreciated its quality and durability.
  • 1997: The PROEL group - A beneficial boost came when Tamburo entered the PROEL group. New product lines, FORMULA, XD, VINTAGE, ASH, were designed. Thanks to a brilliant widespread distribution network, any drummer, from the amateur student to the most demanding professional player, is now able to find the ideal drum set.
